So Easy
Open a file, press the Word Pred key and begin typing. (Press Esc to exit.)
Learn as you write
WordStorm will learn your word preference as you write. Previously used words become first options in the Word Prediction list. If you misspell a word, simply correct or delete that word in your file to correct the WordStorm option list (This feature can be disabled).
Automatic spacing
WordStorm will automatically place a space after each word selected. Commas, periods and other end punctuation will automatically backspace into proper location and then auto-space to begin your next sentence.
Automatic capitalization
Wordstorm will automatically capitalize the first word in each sentence.
Adjustable dictionary size
Fusion allows you to select the right size list for your students. Select from four word lists: 1,000, 3,000, 8,000 or the entire dictionary (80,000 words).
Adjustable word list size (6 or 9 words)
For some students, selecting from 6 word choices is plenty. For others, 9 word choices works best. WordStorm offers students and teachers this important option.
Phonetic or flexible spelling options
WordStorm will offer word choices based upon phonetically misspelled input. WordStorm contains a large database of common phonetic misspellings. (If a student were to type in "wen" the option "Wednesday" will appear in the prediction list. Teachers can add to this phonetic misspelling dictionary).
Topic Specific Word List
Word Storm allows students or teachers a number of easy ways to install topic specific word lists. One of the best ways is to use the "Split Screen Vocabulary Program". (See link) Topic specific vocabulary lists can be extremely helpful to developing writers. Using Fusion's Split Screen functionality, important vocabulary is not hidden; students can see all topic specific vocabulary options.
Read back
Often students can't read or are unsure of the word prediction options they see on the screen. With the Fusion and WordStorm, word prediction options can be heard prior to selection. What a difference it can make for your students to be able to hear each option, prior to selection. (Your Fusion unit must be equipped with the Text to Speech option.)
