Auto-Rubrics
Too often our students expect us to do the hard work of editing and revising. "Here's my paper...you look for ways that I could make it better." Writer Auto-Rubrics go a long way in guiding students through the editing and revising process.
Every essay that is sent to the computer or printer is accompanied by a writing rubric; a check-list of critical writing attributes.
There are seven different editing and revision checklists stored on The Writer. You determine which is most appropriate for the assignment. Students choose the check-list and it's automatically attached and sent with each file.
With the self-editing checklist, students focus on your writing targets. They take responsibility for improving their work.
On-board Rubrics include:
- Basic- Good Writing Checklist
- Perfect Paragraph
- Multi-Paragraph Essay
- Six Traits of Writing
- Persuasive Essay
- Response to Literature
- Creative Writing Checklist
- (You create your own)
